Boneyard Beach at Botany Bay

A shot from Edisto Island on a very hot and bright summer day.

Three Good Things:
1. Walked over (with wine and camera) to a great viewing spot for the spectacular 4th of July fireworks display in uptown Charlotte last night
2. A holiday weekend cookout with family this afternoon
3. Daughter Elizabeth and Jeff left ATL today for a fabulous Caribbean vacation
This looks idyllic Peggy...tropical Island stuff! Love to think of you with wine glass in one hNd & camera in the other! Priorities completely sorted!

Your picture really captures that bright beach light. Looks desolate, though!

Love the trees in the water - has the water level changed?

@judithg I believe storm related and natural erosion have cut the beach way back in this area. It also is adjacent to an inlet which creates consistently strong currents that exacerbates erosion. But it's been like this for many decades without worsening, so perhaps the land is winning the battle for the time being.
