This is for Pat Knowles, @happypat. I saw this wonderful looking bread in the case at the bakery and was told that it was scrumptious English Toasting Bread. Must be kismet, Pat...just what you were showing me yesterday! I'm going to toast a piece for lunch with lots of butter, some blackberry preserves, and a cup of tea, and pretend to be British.
Three Good Things:
1. Neighborhood bakeries
2. Found a fabulous new pepper grinder at Target
3. The possibility of snow is becoming more of a certainty this weekend...
Ooh Peggy that looks absolutely delicious! Very English looking bread & I will be interested to see how you liked the taste! Love the crispy looking finish on it! All your 3# GT are exciting as long as you can stay indoors!
I can't stop chuckling!! As we've come to know one another, it almost seems natural that you should be "speaking to Pat" and wishing to emulate our British friends! It does make me think of the marvelous Lunenburg visit I had with Pam @pamknowler in October. She thought I'd be "a British tea-drinker" and we discovered, rather, that she *loved* Ken's cappuccinos (which he kept topped off until it was time to start on wine) ; )
