Loggerhead Sea Turtle Inventory/Rescue

It's been a banner year for turtle nests at the beach. Three days after a nest has hatched, volunteers from the SCDNR Turtle Project will carefully dig out the nest to record the number of hatched shells and rescue any baby turtles that were unable to dig out on their own. Three tiny turtles were rescued from this nest and helped on their way to the ocean.

Three Good Things:
1. Sea turtles
2. My granddaughter Harper was thrilled to witness a baby turtle rescue
3. My friend Nancy received her Dept of Natural Resources Turtle Project certification following this nest inventory.
