New Neighbors

A few months ago a huge oak tree stood where these giraffes are now standing. It was struck by lightning in a November thunderstorm, was split in two, and had to be removed. The architect who lives in this house decided he wanted to put something tall in place of the tree. He commissioned an artist who does steel sculptures to come up with something unique. These delightful and quirky giraffes are the unique result. (I didn't notice there was a distracting dockless Spin scooter right in front of the grazing giraffe's head until I downloaded the photo).
Three Good Things:
1. Quirkiness
2. Living in an eclectic neighborhood where quirkiness is accepted as normal
3. I was able to identify about ten specific types of birds at the feeder this morning...all of which I would have simply identified as 'birds' prior to the Great Backyard Bird Count.
How fun! I saw the scooter, but it looks as if the wary little giraffe is checking it out!

That’s very philanthropic of him - and fun!

Love this maybe not in my front yard, but very cool. Saw a house in town last week that had two huge moose in the front yard which wasn't very big. Certainly caught my attention. Would love to live in an eclectic neighbourhood.
