Meatloaf, baked sweet potatoes, and green beans were on the menu for lunch today. We had 180 happy diners.
Three Good Things:
1. I'm halfway through being head chef. I think I can make it through another two weeks.
2. I'm not a huge fan of meatloaf, but we get a lot of requests for it. This recipe was actually pretty delicious.
3. We hired one of our regular guests to wash dishes and help unload deliveries. He's doing a great job.
I expect he was delighted to be asked,,,,nothing like being needed to perk you up! I expect he will be volunteering every week from now on! He will enjoy the upgraded status! Looks delicious Peggy!
@happypat We’ve hired Amir to work every Monday and Friday from 9:30 to 12:30. I think he was very glad for the opportunity to earn some income. He’s a delightful guy.
When I had been married a few years, I decided to make meatloaf for the first time. My husband kept asking what he had done wrong. Turns out, his French Canadian father detested meatloaf, but was too stingy to not eat it, so his mother would make it for dinner when she was mad at him!
Well it’s a good protein source and delicious is a big bonus! I admit I’m drawn to the sweet potato! Good on Amir and you folks for hiring him - it’s always easier to get a job when you’re working.
