I ❤️ These Boots

We didn't get a lot of snow, but we did get a lot of sleet, freezing rain, and icy snow...making driving and walking a challenge. These are the closest thing to snow boots in my closet. I thought my Uggs would do the job, but I Googled 'best snow boots' and found out that Uggs are the worst thing to wear. With these boots I made the two-mile trek to the soup kitchen on ice/snow packed streets and sidewalks with no wipeouts. Not even a hint of a slide or skid. Of course, the YouTube videos I watched last night on how to walk on ice might have helped. 🙂
Three Good Things:
1. We made vegetable beef soup and egg salad sandwiches for our guests. Only had about 50 who could get to us, but they were so relieved and happy to see that we were there.
2. We also had beautiful new blankets and scarves to give out, and lots of groceries in our food bank to help get folks through the week with food.
3. Tom walked with me to the kitchen, and met me halfway on the way home. He knows I'm not a snow and ice professional. Although, with 'real' snow boots I think I could handle Denali. Might be doing some online shopping later. 🙂
I love hearing about your kitchen adventures & it was a bit more of an adventure today. Glad you have sensible boots & a strong arm to lean in Peggy, so many people relying on you & your friends!

I have discovered microspikes or crampons. Wore them for the first time the other day with snow, ice, and bare pavement, they were soooo comfortable and really really the best thing ever! Just gotta remember to take them off before going inside!

@bkp Awesome! I saw those on Amazon when I was looking at boots. I think I’ll order some and give them a try. I take your endorsement seriously, as you know snow. 🙂
