This is the line forming for the food pantry at our little soup kitchen.The pandemic required us to increase our soup kitchen and food pantry output two years ago. The current state of inflation has us raising our numbers even more. Today we made lunches of taco casserole, chips, fruit, and cookies for 220. And our food pantry offerings of fresh veggies and fruit, bread, and non-perishable food items were cleared out. The need is great. Life is a struggle for so many.
Three Good Things:
1. Our incredibly generous soup kitchen private donors and corporate sponsors
2. The wonderful popcorn concoctions that grandson, and budding chef, Will made for Tom's birthday...especially the chocolate covered popcorn with marshmallows
3. A Super Bowl matchup with two former SEC quarterbacks
Brilliant shot, and great cause. It really bothers me that in 2022 with the age of the internet, Space Stations and Nuclear bombs, we still need to help people obtain food!!!
Wow that is some soup kitchen! What on Earth would all those needy folk do without you. Winter too, you are a life savour! A long queue…life is hard at the moment for some more than others. Everything is going up in price!
