...Smithtown.

For some reason I can’t help thinking that Smithtown was named after influential alternative rock band The Smiths, who knew how to create controversy in their songs with references to the pain of child abuse, corporal punishment, and even promotion of vegetarianism. Rock band? Not sure you're allowed to call them that. Very influential in my life for sure. Never did work out how my this charming man single became a plant pot in the sixth form common room. I guess not everyone liked it as much as me....would be great if towns were named after them
