My mother would have been 94 today. She was the first European girl born in Kalimantan, lived throughout south east Asia until the age of 6 and then grew up in the Orkney Islands in the far north of Scotland. She loved a good storm.

what a strange geographical route.

I just asked if I can do an induction at the university I work at, in the photo department, they booked me in for next tuesday - that means after next tuesday I'll have access to darkrooms and top spec scanners for free! whoop!

What a powerful photo. Interesting fact about your mother. I found the climate and road conditions extremely challenging on Borneo--hard to imagine what things must have been like in your mother's day.
