Storm beyond (film)

...Delicate Arch, Utah.

This photo was taken with an Olympus Chrome Six RIIB folding camera on Fuji Reala 100 and developed in Tetanal C41 Colortec. I have been looking through some of the photos I shot in the USA recently and this film photo makes an interesting contrast with the digital version taken at the same time in relation to colour, details and image quality. I prefer the film version as well - maybe more what the eye sees? Both incredible though - the storm really brings out the colours.

It's tough to pick a favorite. Both technologies had great results, so my preference is this one beacause of composition more than tools. I like the negative space. The other one, while gorgeous, is something we have seen often before. Another fav.

I like the closer view of the arch in the digital, but the colors and feel of this shot wins over that. Film is so rich in that way. Gorgeous!

I have actually been here and i will have to dig up my shots to share with you someday! Mine are all digital and taken from across the canyon. I had to take the easy trail, as i forgot to bring a snack in case my blood sugar dropped! Steve and I were so bummed we could not get any closer! Im not even sure i had my zoom lens at that time either! Oh well guess just another excuse to go back! That was an amazing place wasn't it??!! :)

@ellimae it is a fairly easy walk in if you go slow, and worth it!
