Taken in 2004 with Canon A10 Powershot. A world for me away in time, space and being which highlights the transformation of an environment through an age of erosion. Sometimes I imagine Dali's clock melting against this tree as figure of time passing and transformation.
A Dali-landscape for sure - I'm so jealous ..... I love natural phenomenon - and the opportunity to capture it on film... nature is the best canvas to work with - I love it - and I love this.
@bobfoto The Attacama desert it is around 2500 meters above sea level in northern Chile. The Altiplano is across the border and occidental Andean range at around 4000-5000 meters. The range itself rises at points to above 6000 meters here in the Andes. The mountains in distance here were above 5000 meters. To travel here we first travelled to San Pedro de Attamaca then on in to Bolivia. It is claimed that parts of th desert have never ever been rained on. Black pre Colombiam pottery from near San Pedro has been dated at over 10000 years old making it one of the very oldest sites. A number of ancient mummies have also been found her buried in large ceramic pots. The dry desert does the work of mummification. Amazingly beautiful but arid place.
