@ltodd said: "Your challenge is "A Step Back in Time" and take a shot that replicates the subject matter of a shot the oldest camera in your camera collection may have taken. You are also limited (as far as is practical) to the capabilities of that old camera - ie while you can use any camera you like to take the shot of any suitable subject matter, you can only use manual focus, and the range of aperture, shutter speeds and equivalent ISO of the film etc and settings available at the time of manufacture for your oldest camera. You can use any camera and any processing you like for your shots, and let's see if you can produce an authentic shot of the era of your oldest camera."
This photo was taken with one of my favourite cameras at the old quarries at Bombo Point. A place that was quarried very early after European settlement. The film is expired black and white, and the camera is operated completely manually. See camera here http://365project.org/peterdegraaff/365/2012-05-25
I am having another roll developed, done with size 127 panchromatic B&W film taken with a Baby Box Tengor from 1933 but it won't be ready until next week.
This is my favorite from the group. I love how vintage it looks, especially with that bright spot in the corner. It reminds me of my last roll shot with my Zeiss ikon. Their look ranged from modern (as expected) to straight out of 1974...it differed from shot to shot.
this one is my favorite too! the composition is once again spot on - I can imagine similar shots taken in a much earlier time are tucked away in many grandparents photo collections. You definitely met the brief Peter!
