Heron taking off

It was very bright sunlight so I seem to have lost a lot of his features.
Phil..on bright days like this I use a Fader ND filter (i.e. a variable neutral density filter) not very expensive & it will allow you to make shots like this without the overexposure.

Sucks when something like that happens, do you shoot raw? Sometimes you can get back blown out highlights and areas that are too dark from the raw image file you can't get from the jpg

They do it on purpose, you know. Hmmmm... guy with camera, lets see just how frustrated we can make him. Still a lovely shot!

@indianabluejay Thanks Jim, I only shoot in raw occasionally because it fills up the memory card too quickly, also I only recently bought some software than can handle raw and I'm still learning how to use it!
