I think this is a Red-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius) feeding on the cotoneaster horizontalis in our back garden. Bumblebees with red tails are hard to identify - there are several sepcies and they're all pretty similar: black with a red tail, so I may not have got the identification right!
