It's a little orphan bear. He was found in a village few weeks ago. His mother could be alive and well, but they definitely lost each other.
In the recent past an orphan like this would spent his life in a circus or a zoo. There was no way to reintroduce him.
Now (thanks to the Orphan Bear Rescue Centre) there is a way to grow him up to be reintroduced in the nature. The key here is that he mustn't lose fear of humans or get attached to one of them (otherwise he would be dangerous).
They program works so good in the centre itself that now some natural reserves and national parks are trying to do the same. This little one is going to a become a second generation of orphan bears reintroduced in the national park.
fantastic - this is a great image and I love the story. I volunteer with the local koala rescue centre and we also have to be careful that we do not 'humanise' them as they need to be able to survive again in the wild. For this bear, yes he could become very dangerous when he grows large, for the koalas the danger is to them as they end up in yards with dogs, or more often on roads.
thanks for the great narrative with this super image
