The last one for today is my little contribution to the monthly theme. These mushrooms called Gyromitra are one of the first mushrooms you can find in our forests in spring.
Some say they are poisonous, some say you just need to handle it right. "No way! There's no way to handle it right! It's extremely poisonous", say those firsts. "I personally eat them every spring and I've never got poisoned", they usually hear in response. And no one, even Wikipedia doesn't know for sure.
Every time I see one of them, there is always a weird though in the back of my brain: do I dare?
And not because I really want to try. Honestly, I don't want to try. Not because I'm afraid. But because they have some magic. They look like they have brains. Or at least veins. Like they're alive. And I don't want to be an irresponsible man who ends their life without any real purpose.
In addition, my father who is an impassioned mushroomer never pick them, which is a very good reason to stay away.
But every time I see one these, I can't help but think: do I dare?
