On the way back to Melbourne from our visit to Casterton in South West Victoria - we stopped near the tiny township of Dunkeld located at the Southern end of The Grampians.
The following information about The Grampians is taken from the Visit Victoria website - www.visitvictoria.com.
"The Grampians are a series of five spectacular sandstone ridges running north to south with steep and craggy slopes on the eastern side and gentler slopes to the west. They are the result of earth movements lifting and tilting the hard sandstones to create an impressive landscape of peaks and valleys. There are lookouts with stunning panoramic views as well as a number of impressive waterfalls."
This image was captured looking towards Mt Sturgeon with Mt Abrupt behind. I would have loved to have moved beyond the powerlines, however, the area was fenced and I assumed it was Private Property. I enhanced the colour a little bit as the day was a bit dull and overcast. :)
