At least the weather's been miserable this weekend so I've been able to concentrate on "study" and not the fact that the beautiful weather outside is passing me by.

This is a great outlet for you. You can study medicine more effectively if you have a passion which can divert your energy temporarily. You are obviously a talented artist but medicine has very little art involved. If you are right handed, your right brain needs some attention intermittantly as the left dominates. Best wishes from someone who has gone through what you are doing.
But yes, I've actually been strongly leaning towards pursuing a different career once I finish this degree. I don't know what I *do* want, but I just don't think medicine is for me.
@pocketmouse ; It may not be what you "do" want, but it can help you do the things that you want to do more while helping others a lot. Since you are 24, you must already be a 3rd yr med student, so you have already gone through a lot of the worst of the trial by fire. Keep your head up and keep going. Seek a diversion from burnout but don't let that sway your determination or lead you off course. You have already gotten this far, so you must have had strong reasons for going as far as you already have gone. Best wishes. Try to get some rest and pray for guidance.
Im a nurse and half the stuff I hated at uni, I thought id give up nursing completely, it wasn't till I picked a specialty (NICU) that I really found my 'calling' good luck with your study/procrastination
So beautiful Teresa. I know things are hard for you right now and its seeems life is all about study and more study... but it will pass and one day you are going to be an incredible doctor who will help many, many people ..... if photography helps give you a distraction then thats a wonderful thing and we are also able to enjoy your superb shots....
Thank you :) I'm left handed, interestingly!
