Branches, connectors... always pruning, sprouting, remodelling. The brain contains over 100 billion neurons and each neuron contains more than 10,000 connections. These connections continually shift and change as we grow and experience and learn new things, right up until old age. Mind-boggling, isn't it?

Lovely! I love trees and often try to photograph them, but not as successfully as this. Don't forget all those connections underground too! Not sure how you would photograph them though! :-)
Love the way you compare your photo to the brain - great analogy! I'm trying to get my brain in gear to get to work - I think a few of my branches may be missing!
My current assignment is on axonal growth and development so this is incredibly pertinent to me atm. Thanks for giving me a visual kick up the bum to get it finished ;o) xx
