De Liefde by pocketmouse

De Liefde

Alex's dad is an antique collector, and has a collection of coins from shipwrecks from centuries ago. This little pure gold coin and the two bigger silver coins are from the De Liefde shipwreck in 1711. Amazing that they're persisted, three centuries later.
Cool, those are dutch! They are called guldens, and they've been the dutch currency for sooooo long. But then the euro came...

August 19th, 2012
Oh my that's so cool! And what ARE these babies worth? Ohhh, this is so cool.. It makes you think about what the past was like. Hehe. Good shot and composition!

Hi Teresa, i was just looking through discussions to see what i could find on 24-70mm 2.8f lenses. I've borrowed a Canon lens and I love it, but it is so expensive to purchase. I read a few reviews on the Tamron lens. Which lens did you end up with?
August 20th, 2012
Neither yet!! I've been busy with my studies and haven't had a proper chance to research it further. However, I am leaning towards the Canon, just because I heard that there is a higher risk of getting a bad copy of the lens with Tamron. @paulaag

@paulaag (and by "heard" I mean "read lots of forums/reviews of the subject"!)

Lol I'm not sure... And I didn't even think to ask! My guess is a decent amount? XD @chewyteeth @izayaa

Hello. Thank you for the challenge you have set for me. I did have a little giggle. I love your project & it has beautiful tones/softness. I am challenging you to a night shot with light trails of cars or something with slow shutter & light.

@nikkic lol xD no joke - I just posted this photo from a few days ago! xD

I can still do the light trail challenge if you like, or if you want to think up a different one instead then that's cool too!
August 20th, 2012
Oops missed that one. Let me think some......
August 20th, 2012
Nice composition and DOF.
August 20th, 2012
Ok. Will stick to my original challenge. Still a light trail but with some distinction of what it is. Ie buildings in background, streetlights etc. cheers

Triggered by the title, because it's my language, Dutch. 'The love', quite a name for a ship. Suppose it was the love of money, because I found out ( http://www.vocsite.nl/schepen/detail.html?id=10614 and http://www.wrecksite.eu/wreck.aspx?59909) it has been one of these East Indies ships. Great to have those really old coins!
