Butter tarts are a sweet and gooey classic of Canadian desserts. They often have raisins or pecans in them, but they come plain too. These ones were a variation on the classic plain ones-- maple butter tarts! They weren't bad but they were very sweet. I'm glad we ended up sharing one and bringing the other one home!
