Today's photo selection is not a work of art-- it's more of a daily log that *features* a work of art!
I don't know if this is a 'thing' elsewhere or not, but here in Waterloo Region we have an annual event called Art Hunt WR. Local artists who want to participate choose works of art they've created, wrap them up (usually, though not necessarily, in brown paper) and hide them outside around the region. Using Facebook and Instagram, the artists and the group that runs the hunt then share photo clues about where in the region the art is hiding, and whoever wants to play can go scavenger hunting for some artwork!
This was the first year that Chris and I played, and we found a Red-Breasted Nuthatch painted by a watercolourist from our neighbouring city (Kitchener)! The artist, Meredith Blunt, is doing a year-long project wherein she paints one bird local to our region every day, and she decided to contribute three of them to this year's Art Hunt.
Today's June Word is joyous, and finding this painting was definitely a joyous moment for us!
