As I was checking the robin's nest this morning in our maple tree, I found a different type of nest right next to it. Hornets! Not good news but it is still a pretty nest :-)
The bee guy identified this as bald faced hornet, not really a hornet but more closely related to yellow jacket. To have it professionally removed costs $200 but they are known to go for the human face to protect their nest. Yay! Hope you won your battle, @sbolden , without getting stung!
Great shot! Reminds me of a few years ago when I bumped my head into a wasps nest. My daughter is still shocked about the language I used when under attack of the wasps.
