A New Position by prn

A New Position

Walked in on Katy with her trying to cope with a new position for sleeping. Try sleeping on your back for days and see what a side view would do for your back. This is not one of the cheerful ones but wanted to share the struggle with wearing a halo. I promise I will get a happy one.

Oh my, that must be terrible to adjust to. I myself am not a back sleeper at all. We are all routing for her.

So sorry Katy is going through this. She looks comfy and peaceful and that is all that counts. I am sure her Dr has told her how she can sleep. I had to learn to sleep on my back (still have to due to my Vertigo) after my neck injury and I had been a stomach sleeper. I did not wear a halo though, it was a soft collar at night and a brace to hold my head stiffly in the forward position when I was out of bed. Lots of pillows and lots of patients as not everything works and she needs to get her rest. I moved in with my parents, 100 miles from home during the beginning treatments and tests and they laughed at me when my spaghetti went down the front of me as I could not look down. I had to laugh as well as it is a learning process not just for Katy but for the family as well. Take care and hugs to you Katy!

I do hope you find a position that works well for you. Sleeping in a recliner sounds like it might be comfortable, but I'm sure that gets old really fast. I love your colorful top! Take care, Katy!

Katy, glad you're finding new positions to rest. I promise I think of you when I turn around in bed.

Oh dear girl......as I think of al the nuisance moments (and hours) that wearing that gigantic piece of scaffolding must bring I really appreciate your struggle....whoever called them "halo" had a very nasty sense of humour! Having xrayed numerous halo wearers (in my previous life) I know you'll eventually get used to it ....and one day you'll be rid of it and you'll feel so naked.....the only really good thing about them is------you are here to wear it!!!!! and that's a great thing....and I am ever grateful to see you in your halo. I am sure that the medical staff told you how incredibly lucky you are!!! (Difficult to believe unless you know the other option!!!!!) heheheheh Thinking of you...and you are always in our prayers!! xx

Oh, bless your heart, Katy! I am with Ruth @ruthmouch " Halo" is a devilish term to give that torture contraption. You can do it though! One day, this will all be memories! Go you!

Sleep is so important but then so is that halo; if you thesaurus the word halo then the words radiance and crown crop up; So you show radiance in your crown and you will get better:0)
