I have a fishpond that I built next yo my store and bought som thumbnail walmart goldfish two years ago. These are them now feeding on top of the water like piranha. Love watching them. They went from 30 to over 125+
So are they comet goldfish then? When I first starting being a fish keeper (inside in a tank) I did so because we got some fish at school in the mail..for science class. They were comets. I loved them, The pet store told me later they sell them as "feeder fish" for big Oscars and other fish eating fish. (I later had an Oscar...) Anyway, these are wonderful! I never thought to put them in a lake! They must be hardy fish
They have 50 acres now. Lol. Actually not that big but quite a bit of room. The number of little ones in there is amazing.
You notice the little black ones and the larger half black and half orange? They are almost fully mature.
They don't do well with muskrats! Blocker (yellow lab) took care of them.
