Lake George by pusspup

Lake George

A fabulous view down the escarpment with Lake George in the background.
This is a very shallow lake which has not had significant water in it for years and is now rapidly receding from evaporation after exceptional Spring rains.
When I lived in Canberra in 1966, Lake George was full the whole year. Have been down there a few times since and it has been empty every time. Seems so strange.

A beautiful capture of the landscape. I hope it doesn't appear in the long term. God send them some water. We don't need it here at the moment - we had plenty of rainfall.

It looks very dry and hot! From Switzerland (it's winter here, and a very cold one...) you make me feel envious !

Desperately in need of good rains :)

It has evaporated pretty quick since the spring rains hasn't it.

A very wild vista. I guess it takes more than one spring-worth of rain to fill a lake back up. Hopefully you will get more rain to pull it back up.
