This odd bit of fence was set into the beach. I don't remember noticing it before. Perhaps it was part of a handrail that has shifted with the tides!

Looks strange as it is. I can't see how the tide could had moved it and kept it straight and embedded in the sand. Looks more like some prank to me. Glad you were there to take a shot of it. So pretty and summery.
