Still playing catch up from our trip. This gorgeous fairy wren was also in the large aviary at the Desert Park. I don't know these birds in the red centre well enough, but I would say this is an immature male based on the brown beak (immature) and blue tail (male).
Beautiful bird and wonderful detail. It's very handy when they give you such great clues as to just exactly what they are. If only all birds were so easy.
wow and another superb fairy wren without the full head colouring - I wonder why mine have retained their colour and out west and down in tassie they haven't ... the marvels of nature!
