I googled Der blaue Reiter..It was a group of artist from the Neue Kunstler Vereinigung (new artist group} Muenich, Germany founded bei a Russian immigrant.

The inspiration of this pic came from the first publication of a almanac on the cover was a blue horse

They are use on heavy soil ( clay ) for farm work
