The alley trough the gate by pyrrhula

The alley trough the gate

This area of the old city has a lot of this alley`s behind the, and as a entrance, of the houses . Often the gates are done as there was a path and the then new houses are build. There is a Law of passing trough in Holland . This means if there is a path being use it have to keep/retain even when you build houses . So they make gates This path leads to last two pic.s .
I`m told it comes from the farmers . They go to the church at the shortest way from the farmhouse to the church.
Lovely shot. It would be great to follow the path to see where it leads. Thank you for the background information.
