In Holland we try to reuse typical old buildings to a new use and destination . This building (it was on yesterday`s pic. too) has been built in the past as a warehouse for farm requirements, like feeds and fertilizers (written on the wall) . Now there are apartments and people live in it very nicely.
Something we also lost in the modern times. In the past , works and living was in the same area and not separated like we do to day. I remember from my youth that all kind of trades and workshops was just in the street or around the corner. It`s gone now, ( and I miss it somehow)
is this Middelburg? I like the fact that certain historical buildings are renovated and modernized to nowadays living. Wouldn't mind living in one of them. Love the shutters. Is that the coat of arms (wapen van) Zeeland?
Wonderful shot of the building - it's nice that they find ways to reuse the buildings as they were, rather than turning them into concrete and glass monstrosities as they do here.
If you like I`ll do tomorrow a nice pic. of it.
