Chat volant . Corneille . Contrast or contradictory IV

Corneille was with Karel Appel, who he met during the war years of the National Academy one of the initiators of Cobra. What bound them was the idea of freedom that they wanted to convey in art. Corneille like made great travel to North Africa, for example, and South America or the Caribbean. The spirit of this country is to be found in his poetic and colorful performances, often a woman, a bird or a cat back. Corneille means crow in French and perhaps also the bird motif refers to the name of the artist himself. The theme he used in his sculptures as inL'Oiseau Magique and Chat Volant ( Magic Bird "and" Flying Cat "), in which a bird and a cat find each other in their desire for freedom
Love the story, not sure I like his flying cat statue

The poem "If pigs could fly" by James Reeves came to mind when I first saw this shot. The bird shows the scale of the sculpture. Interesting capture

@sangwann It`s a real bird the : a Reiger (Ardeidae) Very common in our country. (It`s a part of the contrast or similarity. A flying hunting cat and a fishing bird).

What a unique piece of art and a wonderful capture of it on your behalf! Seems that bird wanted to be in on the shot or maybe was just appreciating the art! x
