I look at this photo and immediately think, "Dutch Blue"! Do people in Holland call a shade of blue, Dutch Blue? It's lovely, and paired with lavender agapanthus, it's a beautiful color combination!
@Weezilou No. this was the first one and I found him in a public garden behind our house. Butterflies always flies. Take some time and luck to capture. A very good butterfly bush is the Buddleia . ( we call it Vlinderstruik = butterfly bush) The bush on the pic. = Ligustrum
@Weezilou I don`t know the color Dutch blue. We have `` Delfs blue `` Mostly done on earthenware. That`s the old Chinese china/porselain paint blue made of Cobalt . See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobalt
@pyrrhula You're right! And why wouldn't you be?! Likely, as I child, there was a phrase, "As blue as a Dutchman's trousers"...hence, "Dutch Blue". But yes, in porcelain, Delfs Blue is a highly sought after color!
