History .
The up to the Reformation the holy Jodocus church dedicated to Oosterland was built in the second half of the 14th century. From this period dates the core of today still free-standing tower. At the end of the 15th century the three-bay late Gothic choir was with 5/8 closing built. 1612 raged in Oosterland a terrible village fire, during which the nave of the church was so affected that it could not be rebuilt. Henceforth, also used a choir for church services. In the 19th century this was extended by two yokes westward. In addition, they built between choir and tower in 1880 a school building, so that today forms a continuous building complex. Since 1904, the school is used as a community center. After damage during the Second World War, which affected mainly the tower, followed in 1949-50 a renovation of the church. The Sint Jodocuskerk is today a reformed congregation within the Uniate Protestant Church in the Netherlands.
