This is a typical farmhouse with barn for this area. A pity there are no many left. The barn was always painted black ( using cheap tar) with white windows and doorpost`s so you could see it better at night
That is some big barn......well kept too...excellent pic......shame they are all disappearing. Do you have 'Grade' listing on your old buildings there? We have different grades for old and interesting buildings, meaning they cannot be altered on the outside and internal original features must be kept.

delightful part of your history. never seen a barn attached to the main house before. Strange how they painted it black, and your forefathers that came to our country painted everything white - with kelp - cheap paint

But once it`s gone it never returns . @randystreat In the whole country you`ll find farmhouses with an attached barn. In different style`s and architectures depending on the area it`s in.
