1646 is the year this farm house was build. The barn is rebuild in the early 1900.
How I know ?, the owner , in the dark blue overalls, told me and it was writen on it. ( show it to you to morrow)
I believe my ancestors (the Von Covenweevanhoven family) came to the US around the same time. They landed in what is now known as New York City- but back then it was named New Amsterdam. I think this is such a beautiful barn- it's so well kept you'd never know how old it is! Looking forward to tomorrow's shot.
I amazing how how anything so old could hold up so well. They must have built things better in the past. The tile roof probably makes thing last longer.
Do you realize we probably have no building that old in the United States?! I love that the home is attached to this immense Barn and can imagine the history that has taken place there! That's a wonderful photo full of good visual information!
