The water tower in Zuidzijde (municipality of Oostflakkee ), also called water tower of the city Den Bommel , was built in 1934 . The tower was necessary on Goeree-Overflakkee (Island) with the arrival of the drinking water pipeline.
The tower is made of reinforced concrete and covered with a copper dome.
The tower has a height of 44 meters and two water reservoirs with a capacity of 200 m 3 ( 52834,4 U.S. gallon) each. This allows the tower to be cleaned without switching off the tower. The bottom of the reservoirs is 28.70 meters above sea level.
The water tower has been shut down, sold to a private individual and converted into a home
The water towers really have such interesting designs. I'd love to see what the inside looks like as a home. The colors of this picture are so vibrant.
