It's funny that you should take note of the "modern art" influence. Some modern art I like, some I do not. Visually some of it is very pleasant and colorful. But sometimes it's just way too conceptual for me. You look at something like the installation you posted the other day but do you really understand what the artist's intentions were? I think they are often to obscure for the common viewer. But if the piece is visually intriguing you can at least enjoy looking at it. So that is my "two cents worth" as we say here in the States.
