(To an extent I agree. Most effort in the UK seems to be to encourage us all to use energy, but with the price we pay we were all being careful anyway. York has to do things like illuminate the old city entrances to attract visitors. Yes it is expensive, but many thousands of jobs depend on visitors continuing to visit the city)
