Zeeland barns usually stood with the end facade to the northwest to prevent storm damage. The so-called klinket, a small door in the large door, was intended to enter the barn without having to open the large doors. Like other elements in the barn, this door was outlined in white to make it easy to find in the dark.
A great capture of the whole barn! The white door frames make the barn look like a happy place, but of course it had a function (as you explained, Ferry. Really interesting!) Fav
