This is for black and white February - day 10.
The emphasis arrives from the highly textured stone facade and the variety of lines within the structure.
This is a one of the earliest train stations in Northern Ontario. It is almost totally constructed of rounded stones giving it a very unique appearance. Temagami is a very popular lake area for both Americans and Canadians and has one of the few old growth white and red pine forest remaining in Canada.
Thank you for your comments and favs on yesterday photo "The Chute"
What unusual stones used to build this station. Really makes it quite unique - love it in b&w - brings out those details and lines so nicely. The dark trim around the windows goes so well with the stones to frame them.
Really enjoy the contrast, which makes the shapes and lines all stand out. That is a serious snowdrift. Are those stars twinkling in the sky or more snow coming down? Beautiful photo!
I'm going to lay a pun on you, but I have to say you're totally rocking this challenge! What a beautiful station and it's fun to see buildings like this in your region!
Wonderful textures - the b@w really emphasizes the detail. Haha, had an instant where I wanted to "like" Louise's remark - thinking I was on facebook for a moment :)
