The Giant Inukshuk by radiogirl

The Giant Inukshuk

The figure of a human made of stones, originally used to hunt caribou, and now used as a marker to guide travelers. This is a picture of large replica built in our town on the waters edge.
This is another example of hard light with clearly defined shadows for black and white February.

Thank you for your comments and favs on yesterdays photo "Early Misty Morning" I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful!

lovely shadows and use of that light... nicely done... i used to have a thing for inukshuks... but then it became the symbol of the olympics and was just so overused that i kind of lost interest in them...

@northy Thanks for the comment, this was constructed here leading up to the Olympics, we did well in hockey that year.

Really nice example of the kind of lighting you were working with - that snow adds something to it. My first thought was a hockey player (large version) - very nice shot.

An excellent shot... especially for this week, as a hard light example. I like the way the light plays on the snow, showing the textures, sparkles and shadows. Very nice shot.
