Lichen, Wood and Pebbles

While walking along my favorite beach my eye was attracted to the bright lichen against the wood and pebbles.

Is this selective coloring? Can't really tell as drift wood and other wood is this color and so are the stones!! LOVE the details on the lichen and the color!! It is really a big spot of it!! Almost looks like a sponge!! Super shot and Instant FAV!
