My friends and I were on a 5km hike this morning and came upon this boulder.
I gave it a little faffing.
A glacial erratic is glacially-deposited rock differing from the size and type of rock native to the area in which it rests. "Erratics" take their name from the Latin word errare, and are carried by glacial ice, often over distances of hundreds of kilometres. From Wikipedia
Second time this month, I've heard about erratics. Great info and sample in your shot. Thanks for sharing. I like the perspective of your friends in the background. Fav
