The familiar blue jay can be found year round throughout most of eastern North America, I love it's black necklace and black and white markings on the wings and tail. This one was looking for a drink in the birdbath and I caught him just he was about to fly away. At the bird feeder the blue jays are often aggressive towards other birds, although I'm finding the little chickadees are standing their ground with the blue jays right now!
