- In honor of the one second skip at midnight night to the 1st of July, I took a picture of my just fixed watch :) Didn't know we skipped one second every year this night, but we have apparently been doing it since 1972 ..
Its all to do with the spin of the earth slowing down. If we stop adding the second, in a few thousand years midnight would end up in the middle of the day. So, we're doing this for the next few generations rather than to benefit us. I hope they appreciate it!

Love the watch. The one second addition caused a problem with the QANTAS flights. It effected their computers and the ticketing had to be done manually - chaos!
