Whilst I love going to the Tate, and I find the exhibition spaces incredibly impactful, I have to admit to never liking (actually even I go further to say I dislike) the exterior of the building, which was remodelled from the original Bankside Power Station.
Another good different viewpoint of a well known building. @wakelys I agree it's not pretty but as a reuse of a coal fired power station in central London, it's a great conversion inside.
It is an architecturally artistic building. I can appreciate it for that even though it's not my taste. I like the industrial edge you've given it in the processing/capture.
Great angles here. I'm a fan but then I'm a massive lover of 20th century architecture of all sorts. Are those the flats that have won that court case about their privacy being invaded by the Tate's viewing platform?
Interesting. I just started Jeffery Archer's book #1 in his Detective William Warwick series, "Nothing Ventured." Warwick starts out as a Constable walking the beat for the Metropolitan Police but gets a promotion to Scotland Yard in the Arts and Antiques squad. He meets a woman who catches his fancy and works at the Fitzmolean. But, so far they do mention the Tate Modern and the possibility of her one day being the director of the Tate. I'm only in chapter 13.
