Art & Architecture

I went to a wonderful exhibition at Tate Modern today to see Polish artist Magdalena Abakanowicz (1930-2017). In the 1960s and 70s She created large woven sculptures that became known as Abakans (after the artist's surname). Her ambiguous, sometimes room sized, forms made from thread and rope are magnificent and well worth seeing. More to come.
Sounds interesting.

I agree with you. "Art is not a decoration, but a challenge, a confrontation, a warning." - Magdalena Abakanowicz.

Interesting - thanks for the info - never realized that Abakan work was named after the artist!
