Art & Architrcture - 14

Another of the series Sculpture in the City (of London), this is a life-sized sculpture of a traditional English grain store called ‘The Granary’ by artist Jesse Pollock. It’s finished in a pearlescent candy orange colour, apparently chosen to represent the desire to return to an idyllic, rose-tinted past.
mmmmm......not sure about that one !!! Traditionally the four corners would rest on granite 'mushrooms' so that rats could not get in and eat all the grain.......

@cutekitty - do you think those stands are supposed to be mushrooms?

Not quite like the grain stores that I remember when growing up as a country girl. I think this idea was conceived while Jason had consumed a different type of mushroom. An interesting focal point though and great reflections.

Hmm not my type of art but I do love it's colour and the man in the matching hi-vis jacket!

This looks so fragile up on the pyramids. Great color, matching the person standing to the rear on the left.

This is cool. It reminds me of the witch's house from the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel
