This is a shot I took from the steps of Leeds Civic Hall across Millennium Square. I got my bike back all repaired and serviced, felt like it was brand new. Took the afternoon off and went for a ride, camera in tow. You can see Leeds Town Hall, one of the Civic Hall's Owls and some lights in Millennium Square overlooking the new outdoor ice rink (which you can't see)
Great silhouette - I like Millenium Square - this is a good combination shot!! You guys played well tonight - thought it was going to be a close one in the second half!
@sparkle Yeah we didn't let ourselves down. Leeds really looked like they should be back in the big time even if more for the atmosphere and the crowd than the actual result! Pompey next @andycoleborn !
@rich57 ha ha - just mentioned similar in comment on your other pic... I'm not confident - our defence is sh1t... Just hope O'Brien can play another blinder :-)
Love all the different silhouettes you've managed to capture here. They sky behind them is great. And and 'owl trail' sounds totally fun to do with kids. Love it when cities do thinks like that.
way cool shot! A good nights' sky :-) What is it with the owls? I asked Eddie the other day and he just said it was Leeds' symbol or something (he wasnt sure!)
@blightygal Ok, I'm no expert but I think the owls are on the coat of arms of the Savile family one of whom was MP for Leeds in the 17th century. They were some bigwigs, don't know if Sir Jimmy is related! Also there was a rumour of building a 200ft steel owl to rival the Angel of the North a while back. Of course some people think they're illuminati symbols.....!
(And Pompey)
Love the Owl silhouette.
